Meet the Artisan

Pedro Joaquin Beltran Aban
I was born and raised in the municipality of Tekax, Yucatan. For the last 5 years I have fully dedicated myself to the making of artesanias (Mexican folk art) of black mud, lek (Natural small woody container), bones, and nickel silver filigrees. In them I can do from jewelry to decorative creations. I am passionate about Mayan culture and in the rescuing and preservation of their different techniques and history that they imprinted in their different works. I believe in fusion and innovation along with preservation of cultural history.
I am 34 years old and I feel honored to have the opportunity to share, through my creations, a little bit of the Mexican culture, which motivates me to create outstanding pieces that display the richness of the Mexican history to the world.
